Do schools matter?

My schooling was in one of the finest schools in the city. The school focused too much on academics which made me stay confined to books most of the time. Finding time for extra curricular activities, play and going out with parents was really difficult as my energy and focus mostly went in studying.

As I stepped into the corporate, and interacted with many of my colleagues, I realised that there were many who were from not so popular schools, but still working for the same company as mine. Thats when the thought came to me that, being in amazing schools, working so hard really shouldn’t be a priority in life, there should be equal parts of enjoyment as well.

A school doesn’t entirely shape who you are, rather just nudges you. It depends on the individual how he develops himself/herself.
