One great point I didn't find a place to mention in the article but that you might find insightful is an approach I've heard Brene Brown take with her family when it comes to their rest days. She and her family take time to discuss what's uniquely restful for them individually. They each write down their own list of all the activities that fill them up. Then, they find where there's overlap and spend their "rest time" enjoying those particular activities together. I thought this was a cool way to make it a family practice, not just an individual one!

In reply to Natalie. The guilt is why I spend a few hours on a weekend morning getting stuff done, then the rest of the day "doing nothing". It's my balance. A full day of rest would be tough for me. I'd spend the whole time thinking of all the things I need to get done.
