As a woman in her late 30s living outside a lot of societal norms (still hoping some of said norms come to fruition) and figuring out how I want happiness and life to look and feel like to me – reading this gave me such a clear, compassionate, and grounded feeling of sovereignty in the ebbs and flows of my own experience… a feeling of wholeness in the adventure. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I did try to include women in their 80s and 90s in the opening—like Toni Morrison, Jane Goodall, Maya Angelou, and Jean Erdman, who lived to 104. I honor that ongoing vitality. At 64, I can only speak from my own experience of aging so far, but I deeply value your reminder that each decade beyond this one brings its own unique rhythm and wisdom.

And disappointing – why (once more) is ’60 and beyond’ treated as an homogenous group? There are many differences between the interests, needs and development of active fit healthy, often working women/people in their 60’s and 70’s (say) and those in their 80’s and 90’s (say) who are (maybe) becoming differently active and engaged.
